It's been a productive few weeks...

Some time to reflect on the last few weeks and share some things that have made me grateful.
No time to be depressed when you are happy for what you have.
**************************
...children leading worship.

...getting a new mattress that's super comfortable.

... tax time bringing in some extra money which in turn means less stress for me.

...getting homework done before 1pm most days.

...Mark getting a new doll kit for his birthday.

...three successful egg hunts between work and church.

...having some good craft time.

...being finished with the quilt and giving it to Randy's grandmother.

...bringing Randy's motorcycle out of storage.

... a new dress sewn.

...some pictures finally of my littles and of my husband and I from Easter. Man do they clean up good!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easer and what are you grateful for today?

birds and hedgies {KCCO}

After searching the internet I had found 2 tutorials for needle felting a little spring bird. They gave some great instructions and inspiration and can be found here and here . Ryguy had also been asking me for some hedgehogs since our evening/bedtime song involves squirrels and hedgehogs so I decided I would try to tackle those too. Not too shabby I think!

What are  you crafting this week?

Goals for Lent

"Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection. In the early church, Lent was a time to prepare new converts for baptism. Today, Christians focus on their relationship with God, often choosing to give up something or to volunteer and give of themselves for others."

As our family varies in our stages and levels of faith I chose to encourage the teens and littles to GIVE of themselves this year vs fast or give something up. I chose the following 2 volunteer activities for our family to fill our time while we prepare our hearts for Lent.

The Peyton Heart Project
This initiative's goals are to open discussion between teen bullying, suicide, and depression by spreading little hearts with encouraging words as their acts of kindness. Our goal is to do 250 hearts of various mediums during our handwork time. They also have a huge social media platform which was encouraging for Beanie and Kirky as they love Facebook and Instagram #peytonheartproject

Phil's Friends
Our littles will be making cards for people with cancer. Simple and meaningful since our Grandma Adeline was just diagnosed with skin cancer again and I lost my Gama to cancer right before I became pregnant with Nanners.

We also will do some fun things as always such as our egg hunt, resurrection rolls and maybe work through the resurrection eggs.

spring poem

March nodded to Winter, “Goodbye! Goodbye!
Off to your home in the North you must hide.
Oh, have you forgotten, under the snow
The wee seeds are waiting — yes, waiting to grow?
“They are Spring’s little babies, and soon she’ll be here,
Whispering her welcome to each baby dear;
So I’ll tidy the earth; I’ll sweep and I’ll blow,
Getting it cleared for the flowers to grow!”

Bit o' Spring- Grateful Sunday

Finally finished a bit o spring to go on our fireplace. Kool-aid dyed yarn for the flowers and some Patton's blue wool for the chain. I've had it sitting for weeks so glad to be done.

Here is the flower pattern in case anyone else would love to make it too!

Other things I'm grateful for:

Nanner's having learned and respected our rules for dressing and remembering to apply them at all times, even when its her dance costume.

Finding a breast milk donor for Giddy so that although I am not producing as much as I use to that he can still get breast milk.

Koda finally turning 18 and getting the ambition to take her driver's test soon. *crossing fingers*

Ryguy finally talking more.

Randy is able to go riding a few times with his cousin and enjoying having a motorcycle buddy again.

What are you grateful for?

On our trays

Again behind. these have been out for a few days but never got the chance to put the post up. Last month I never took any pics so you will have to forgive me. This month though we did an Easter/spring theme.
We have:

matching sound eggs

matching color eggs

color grading (we still haven't got a hang of this)

and spooning.

Our sensory bin is full of eggs, Easter grass and this lightup fuzzy chick. Spring cookie cutters also are in our bin.
