slowish weekend

Some time to reflect on the last week and share some things that have made me grateful.
No time to be depressed when you are happy for what you have.

Sorry for the MIA...

I will be blogging a bit less due to simple energy conservation.

I have started physical therapy due to my back and shoulders getting worse.  It has been very hard and discouraging as my muscles are revolting horribly due to being so knotted. 3 times a week is rough when some days I can't lift my arms to start. There is talks now of cortisone or saline shots in order to force them to cooperate but we will reevaluate in several weeks to see if it will be needed.

It often feels that my body is broken due to how damaged it is however I do know that this healing will take time a lot of energy. Thank you for being patient with me while I fight this in order to be fully here for my kids.

My great reminder to keep at it while going through this intense therapy.

spring poem

March nodded to Winter, “Goodbye! Goodbye!
Off to your home in the North you must hide.
Oh, have you forgotten, under the snow
The wee seeds are waiting — yes, waiting to grow?
“They are Spring’s little babies, and soon she’ll be here,
Whispering her welcome to each baby dear;
So I’ll tidy the earth; I’ll sweep and I’ll blow,
Getting it cleared for the flowers to grow!”

You look tired....

I get it.

You are trying to engage in small talk and be sympathetic. You see my wrangling my overactive toddler while reminding my preschooler to use walking feet in the hallway. You see me at work punching in for yet another day of mandatory overtime with my hands shaking.

"You look so tired."

........yeah I know.

However what you don't know is I just popped about 4 RX pain pills in order to even make it to the building. I am wearing my brace not to just support my wrists but to get a better grip on my child so I don't drop him. I have 4 layers of clothing on to try to regulate my body temperature as cold makes everything worse. I pulled yet another muscle in my back so raising my hands above my head is out of the question and of course I'm trying to play keep away from the baby.

"You look tired" has become an insult to me. It is a nicer, polite way to say " you look exhausted and are about to collapse and I don't even understand how you are functioning and here"

To be honest, I don't know how I'm here some days either....

So please, enjoy my company. Talk to me and say "I'm happy to see you and I'm glad you came." Talk to me about anything else. I'll pull through as always and it just might convince me to fight again to come back.

Block planning 2016

The month of December and the first week of January are referred to as "hell season" for me at my jobs. Mandatory overtime for sales and then tech week for our productions at the park district. I have not done much in the part of formal lessons during this time due to the craziness. We worked on form drawings, some math drills and a lot of just trying to find our new groove together.

During our winter break I spent some time honkering out a plan for the new year. We will be starting back today, Lord willing.

New mittens {KCCO}

I decided to whip up some baby mittens for Gid since putting gloves on him is the biggest royal pain. I don't like the cheap nylon mittens from Wal-Mart for the kids as they get soaked easily in the snow.
I crocheted these up quickly in cascade wool and made my own pattern inspired by many others. There are only so many ways to make a simple tube with a thumb hole. I love this blue and I hope he likes them.

What are you crafting right now?

New years

Some time to reflect on the last week and share some things that have made me grateful.
No time to be depressed when you are happy for what you have.

*************************
...new Christmas socks. They say " Tomorrow will be a better day"

...That it is ok that your inner work time looks like this.

...a new painting my husband asked me to do for him. You can't be human if you did not cry in the beginning of UP.

...Daddy and Ryguy working hard together and painting the gift Grandma gave them.

... I was actually blessed with the gifts my children were given this year. Many families with similar values complain about the overabundance of crap that is given to their kids but we were gifted good art supplies, legos and a ton of group gifts. We were also able to renew our gym membership.

... a New Years Eve brunch date with the husband. A nice afternoon with Randy.

What are you thankful for this week?
