Sorry its been awhile...

Some time to reflect on the last few weeks and share some things that have made me grateful.
No time to be depressed when you are happy for what you have.
******************
growth within work although its now crazy stressful for the unknown...

a successful camping trip...

seeing my rainbow of flowers...

butterflies...
movie night with the littles...
early morning uninterrupted yoga...

a trip to the museum with husband and baby...

successful mission trip...

taking my littles to the children's museum alone all while loving every minute of the slowness and peacefulness of play...

my littles enjoying their reenactment...

crocheting in the grass while our last week in our old office...

some flowers picked along the trail by our home...

a dog with a tongue up his nose. he never fails to make me smile, except for his excessive screeching at 5 am...

I am sorry for the delay in posts as it has been a madhouse here with mission trips and craziness at work all while battling a fibro flare. More updates on their way!

a golden afternoon

 Alice:
You can learn a lot of things from the
flowers, for especially in the month of
June. There’s a wealth of happiness and
romance, oh...

Flowers:...the golden afternoon!

Although its not June quite yet, I felt it was close enough. to tie in the end of our botany unit study we chose to go to a local favorite. Cantigny is a small war museum on the property of Robert McCormick who made a ton of political and influential improvements in his time. This location has huge gardens, 30 tanks for the kids to climb and enjoy and tours of his home.

The kids love the tanks crawling under and on top of them. I view it as a great proprioceptive activity and an exciting change.

A trip out

Since my health started getting worse after Gid was born we don't take many trips out anymore. It wears me out physically and emotionally as it can be rough wrangling so many kids in and out of car seats, missing naps and delayed lunch.... well you get the idea. It often is not worth the struggle and the result of me being down for a day or so afterwards.

We decided one day that since it was so nice out that we would try to go out to one of my favorite places, the zoo. We pulled out my grandmother's old wheelchair to try to save me energy and off we went. I will say that using the wheelchair as frustrating as it is, allowed us to stay longer and me not to feel like I would collapse by the end of the day. I did still take a nap afterwards but it did not feel as extreme as it has in trips past.

Although I am young it is a huge pride thing to have to use a mobility device. However sometimes you do crazy things to see smiles on your kid's faces again...

Zoo trip

We recently took a visit to our local zoo who's membership has been one of our best investments. The kids had a great time seeing everyone in costume even though we didn't dress up ourselves due to how cold it was in the morning. Everyone took the day as a champ and a great nap was taken afterwards.

Please keep our doggie Shemp in your thoughts. He ran off late last night and is still missing. We are praying for his safe return however we are worried he went to go fend off the coyotes. The kids are missing him so I would like him home soon.

New family member

Over the past week we have rescued another dog.
It seems he was abused so our biggest task is socializing him around humans. He is very much a pacifist and we have renamed him as such from Rambo to Groucho. It will be a great thing as he comes out of his shell.

We spent the day trying to socialize him at the local state park. It ended up being a great idea even after being lost for over 2 hours. Here are a few good shots from our adventures.
